On account of Swami Vivekananda’s 156th Birth Anniversary,Members of Heart fulness Voluntary Organisation conducted the meditation program for youths to improve their mental strength. The volunteers were:

  1. Mr Vinod Mishra
  2. Mr Bharat
  3. MrSreenivasan
  4. Ms Nandita

The program started with a welcome note by Ms D. Revathy, Student Counsellor.

An introductory talk about meditation and its usefulness was given by Mr Vinod Mishra.

Ms Nandita guided the students in meditation process, first with relaxation techniques, followed by meditation for 30 minutes.

The students were able to go with the flow and meditate. After meditation the students’ feedback was that, some of them went off to sleep, some were not able to restrict their wandering thoughts, and some found it difficult to sit… Mr Mishra explained that all these will be initially felt and once students start practicing regularly, it will fall in place.

A staff said that, she got headache. She was explained that,she would have restricted her thought flow, which causes headache, and initially these will be felt during the meditation process and it is always better to start the practise with proper guidance.

The volunteers were willing to come and do the follow-up sessions and train the students at any time and it is purely a service offered free of cost.

The program ended with a Vote of Thanks.
