EWB-India KCG College of Technology Student Chapter was inaugurated on 4 Feb 2017.

2018-2019

In 2018-2019, Ms. K. Silvia of Final Year Electronics and Communication Engineering was the Student President and the Chapter has 122 student members. The chapter supported to raise fund for the people affected in Kerala flood. The chapter organized a Beach Cleaning Drive at Panaiyur Beach, ECR, Chennai on 9 Feb 2019. The chapter arranged a garments drive to help the children’s at Annaikkum Karangal, Ullagaram, Chennai and handed over the garments on 2 March 2019. The chapter initiated a book drive and inaugurated Dr. APJ Abdul Kalam Library at J11 Kannagi Nagar Police Boys & Girls Club, Kannagi Nagar, OMR, Cehnnai with 550 books on 26 March 2019. The chapter consistently do activities for the society in various aspects with the support of students.

All India Meet 2020 at SVCE Bangalore

Engineers Without Borders India All India Chapters Meet was held at Sri Venkateshwara College of Engineering, Vidyanagar, Bangalore on 10-11 January 2020. The programme was inaugurated with the prayer song, followed by lighting of the lamp. EWB Student president of SVCE welcomed the gathering, followed with addresses by Principal SVCE, EWB-India Bangalore Chapter, and the Chairman EWB India. 8 students along with faculty advisor from KCG College of Technology attended in the All India Meet 2020 at SVCE Bangalore. Mr. Sivaraman, Student President of KCG College of Technology given a talk on the topic ‘How Participation in the activities and projects of the EWB-India Student Chapter has benefited him’,

Plantation Drive at Mahindra World City

17 Members and the Faculty Advisor of EWB-India KCG College of Technology Student Chapter participated in the Chennai’s Largest 1.5 Lakh Plantation Drive “One Tree is All it Takes” at Mahindra World City, using Miyawaki methodology on 31 August 2019, and the Drive was sponsored by Times of India & Hero Motors, organized by CommuniTree, Chennai.

 

Teach-to-Reach Programme at Kannagi Nagar

EWB-India KCG College of Technology Student Chapter organized a Teach-to-Reach teaching/coaching programme at J-11 Boys and Girls Club, Kannagi Nagar, for the students of Kannagi Nagar, on 6 September 2019 from 5.30 p.m. to 7.00 p.m. Four members of EWB-KCG Chapter and the Faculty Advisor Dr. Jose Anand, Associate Professor/ECE participated in the programme. The students at kannaginagar utilized the event in an efficient manner.

 

Planets Largest Coastal Cleanup” Programme at Palavakkam

EWB-India KCG College of Technology Student Chapter participated in the “The Planets Largest Coastal Cleanup” drive organized by “Save a Turtile” organization in association with Government of Tamil Nadu planned to clean the Beach from Marina to Kovalam on 21 September 2019 from 6.00 a.m. to 9.00 a.m. The following KCG Students participated in the event at Palavakkam Beach coordinated by Faculty Advisor Dr. Jose Anand, Associate Professor/ECE. KCG Alumnus Mr. Vignesh, ECE 2010 Batch also participated in the event.

Seed Ball Grahaon 25 September 2019

Nine students from EWB-India KCG College of Technology Student Chapter, placed 600 seed balls along the side of Buckingham Canal towards the KCG College Road on 25 Sep 2019 from 10.30 a.m. to 12.00 noon along with Dean Academics, Dr. Sarukasi, and Dr. Jose Anand, Faculty Advisor EWB-India KCG College of Technology Student Chapter

Swachh Bharat Mission or Clean India Mission

As part of Swachh Bharat Mission or Clean India Mission, EWB-India KCG College of Technology Student Chapter organized Campus Clean Program at KCG College of Technology on 2Oct 2020 (Gandhi Jayanti) from 10.00 a.m. to 11.30 a.m. The event was coordinated by Vignesh Kumar S – IV year ECE, Venkat Kumar J – IV year ECE and Praveen SaravanaBhavan – IV year ECE.

Palm Seed Sowing Program

EWB-India KCG College of Technology Student Chapter organized palm seed sowing program and sowed hundred plus palm seeds along the Madipakkam lake bund on 4 Nov 2020 from 5.00 p.m. to 6.30 p.m. The event was coordinated by RohithVenkatesh S. – IV year ECE, Praveen SaravanaBhavan – IV year ECE, and Dr. Jose Anand, Associate Professor/ECE & Faculty Advisor EWB India KCG College of Technology Student Chapter.

Motivational Talk

EWB-India KCG College of Technology Student Chapter organized a motivational talk to 11th and 12th Standard Students of Government Higher Secondary School, Perungudi on 18 February 2021 afternoon. Nearly 175 students were addressed and feedbacks were collected. The event was coordinated by Praveen SaravanaBhavan – IV year ECE, and Dr. Jose Anand, Associate Professor/ECE & Faculty Advisor EWB India KCG College of Technology Student Chapter. Dr. KavithaBalamurugan, Head & Professor, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering addressed the students.

Visit to Old Age Home

The EWB-India KCG College of Technology Student Chapter organized visit to an old age home; Sri Poornamahameru Trust, Pallavaram, home for 40 plus senior citizens by the following students and is coordinated by Dr. Jose Anand, Associate Professor/ECE, & EWB Faculty Advisor, KCG College of Technology, on 12 June 2022.

Webinar on Awareness on Child Abuse

The EWB-India KCG College of Technology Student Chapter organized a webinar on Awareness on Child Abuse for the 8th standard students of Kalaimagal Vidyalaya Matriculation Higher Secondary School, Royapuram, Chennai on 10 July 2021 from 10.00 a.m. to 11.30 a.m. using Zoom platform. Ms. Shanthi Hopper, Senior Manager Advocacy, External Engagement and Campaign, World Vision India was the speaker and the event was coordinated by EWB student members, Ms. Cladia Christy, and Ms. Ramya B of department of Electronics and Communication Engineering.

Around 55 students from 8th standard, Kalaimagal Vidyalaya Matriculation Higher Secondary School attended the webinar. The event started at 10.00 a.m. with welcome address and introduction to KCG College of Technology and EWB India – KCG College of Technology StudentChapter and its activities by Ms. Yuvashree, EWB India – KCG College of Technology Student Chapter President. Continued by Ms. Cladia Christy gave an introduction about the school and the speaker. The speaker interacted with the students to get their attention and she explained in detail about child abuse. She explained the four rights for the children. She encouraged students to express their feelings and open up to their parents. She then spoke about good touch and bad touch and played a video by actor Mr. Sivakarthikeyan explaining about good touch and bad touch. The speaker conducted an activity and finally concluded by sharing the child help line number.

Then, a small activity like cross word, connection and encoding was conducted, in which all results says “Say no to Child Abuse” was conducted by Ms. B. Ramya, Ms. T. Sneha and Ms. Rujula. Finally, feedback form was shared and Ms. B. Ramya gave the vote of thanks. The event came to an end by 12.00 noon.

Tree Sapling Plantation

The EWB-India KCG College of Technology Student Chapter organized a tree sapling plantation drive in the month of July 2021 to plant a sapling by individuals and to take a picture of the same and to send the picture to the event coordinator Sneha T. and Ramya E. of ECE 3rd year student.Nearly 65 pictures were received from various participants from KCG College of Technology, and a video was created by the pictures. Thanks to all the participants who took part in the event.

Feed the Needy Event

The EWB-India KCG College of Technology Student Chapter organized Feed the Needy event to distribute 50 food packets to the needy people along the road side from Velachery to Besant Nagar on 15 Aug 2021. Eight students and the faculty coordinator participated in the event. Coastal Cleanup Drive event at Panaiyur Beach

On International Coastal Cleanup Day 2021 (18.09.2021), EWB-India KCG College of Technology Student Chapter organized Coastal Cleanup Drive at PanaiyurBeach ECR on 10.09.2021 from 6.30 a.m. to 9.30 a.m. Thirty-Two Students participated in the event and is coordinated by Faculty Advisor Dr. Jose Anand, Associate Professor/ECE.



Clean Campus drive

The EWB-India KCG College of Technology Student Chapter organized clean campus drive at KCG College of Technology Campus on 18 March 2022. 25 students participated in the event and the same is coordinated by Dr. Jose Anand, Associate Professor/ECE, & EWB Faculty Advisor, KCG College of Technology. Hill Walk

The EWB-India KCG College of Technology Student Chapter organized “Hill Walk”, Tirusulam Hills, Chennai on 27 March 2022 along with 25 students, coordinated by Dr. Jose Anand, Associate Professor/ECE, & EWB Faculty Advisor, KCG College of Technology. It was a wonderful experience to climb the hill in the early morning, which is located within the city. Thanks to all the participants who took part in the event.

Prema Vasam

The EWB-India KCG College of Technology Student Chapter organized “A day with Special Children”, visit to Prema Vasam, a home for the Mentally & Physically Challenged and Less Fortunate Children at Gerugambakkam, Chennai on 27 March 2022 along with 20 students, coordinated by Dr. Jose Anand, Associate Professor/ECE, & EWB Faculty Advisor, KCG College of Technology.We donated few food items and cash of Rs. 3,500/- to the trust. Thanks to all the participants who took part in the event.

Wear Mask Be Safe Event

The EWB-India KCG College of Technology Student Chapter organized “Wear Mask Be Safe”, event, to distribute 100 masks to the people of Kannagi Nagar on 04 April 2022. 10 students participated in the event and iscoordinated by Dr. Jose Anand, Associate Professor/ECE, & EWB Faculty Advisor, KCG College of Technology.

Fish Feeding Event

The EWB-India KCG College of Technology Student Chapter organized “Fish Feeding”, event, on World Earth Day at Moovarasampet Pond, Madipakkam, on 22.April 2022, 5.00 p.m.. The following students participated in the event and is coordinated by Dr. Jose Anand, Associate Professor/ECE, & EWB Faculty Advisor, KCG College of Technology.

Tree Sapling Plantation

The EWB-India KCG College of Technology Student Chapter organized 110Sapling plantation at KCG College of Technology along with 20 students on 28 April 2022. Dr. Jose Anand, Associate Professor/ECE, & EWB Faculty Advisor, KCG College of Technology, coordinated the event.

The EWB-India KCG College of Technology Student Chapter organized “Hill Walk”, Tirusulam Hills, Chennai on 24 Sep 2022 along with 51 students from IT second year, coordinated by Dr. Jose Anand, Associate Professor/ECE, & EWB Faculty Advisor, KCG College of Technology. It was a wonderful experience to climb the hill in the early morning, which is located within the city. Thanks to all the participants who took part in the event.

The EWB-India KCG College of Technology Student Chapter organized “Organ Donation Awareness Seminar”, in association with MOHAN Foundation, Chennai for 120 students, at F14, KCG College of Technology on 07 Oct 2022. Dr. Hemal and Mr. Ganesh from MOHAN Foundation encaged the sessions. The sessions wen well, and was followed by an activity by Dr. Hemal. The seminar was awesome and few students pledged for organ donation. The event was coordinated by Dr. Jose Anand, Associate Professor/ECE, & EWB Faculty Advisor, KCG College of Technology.

The EWB-India KCG College of Technology Student Chapter organized “Clean Campus Drive”, in association with BHUMI, Chennai, at KCG College of Technology on 15 Oct 2022 morning. Around 45 students participated in the event, and was coordinated by Dr. Jose Anand, Associate Professor/ECE, & EWB Faculty Advisor, KCG College of Technology & Dr. R. Amrutha, Associate Professor, Department of Physics, KCG College of Technology.
The EWB-India KCG College of Technology Student Chapter organized “UNESCO World Heritage Site Visit”, to Mahabalipuram for 2nd year IT students on 02 Oct 2022. 35 students participated in the event. The event was coordinated by Dr. Jose Anand, Associate Professor/ECE, & EWB Faculty Advisor, KCG College of Technology.

The EWB-India KCG College of Technology Student Chapter organized “Gift Distribution”, to KCG housekeeping staff on 04 March 2023 along with 5 students from ECE department, coordinated by Dr. Jose Anand, Associate Professor/ECE, & EWB Faculty Advisor, KCG College of Technology. Gifts were distributed to all the 49 housekeeping staff in KCG College of Technology. Thanks to all the participants who took part in the event.

The EWB-India KCG College of Technology Student Chapter organized “Bird Watch”, to Vedanthangal Bird Sanctuary on 11 March 2023 along with 101 students from ECE and IT departments, along with 3 staffs, coordinated by Dr. Jose Anand, Professor/ECE, & EWB Faculty Advisor, KCG College of Technology. It was a nice experience to visit the Sanctuary to view the migratory birds from various locations on the world. Thanks to all the participants who took part in the event.

The EWB-India KCG College of Technology Student Chapter organized “Garment Distribution”, to KCG housekeeping staff on 27 April 2023 by Professor & Head, Dr. Kavitha Balamurugan, ECE department, and coordinated by Dr. Jose Anand, Professor/ECE, & EWB Faculty Advisor, KCG College of Technology.
