International Affiars

KCG College of Technology has a clear and a far-sighted vision that they have understood the need for International Affairs for Students in their campus. This institution is very keen to give exposure to the students and faculty members to International Universities.

Inauguration

The activities of International Affairs got started in May 2017. Various activities were carried out since then, though the International Affairs was formally inaugurated by Dr. Elizabeth Verghese, Chairperson, Hindustan Group of Institutions, on 4th Oct 2017. While delivering the Presidential address, Chairperson of Hindustan Group of Institutions stressed the need of instilling confidence in students and in motivating them to approach Foreign Universities for higher education as well as for taking up Internship and Project activities from Universities abroad.

Inauguration of International Affairs

Dr. Anand Jacob Verghese, Director and CEO, in his address stressed the need to collaborate with leading Universities across the globe in the area of research and highlighted the importance of faculty members and student exchange programs.

Dr. Anand Jacob Verghese listed the various initiatives taken by the Institution to sign Memorandum of Understanding with globally well-known Universities and in arranging visits by International Professors for interacting with the faculty and the students.

The objectives of International affairs team are

  • Assisting students for higher studies abroad
  • Arranging short term Internship program for faculty and students
  • Arrange Student & Faculty Exchange program
  • Helping students and faculty to have common research activity with Universities abroad
  • Taking up challenging projects from distinguished Universities
  • Conducting Special Guest Lectures and Technical Conferences in collaboration with some of the best Universities in the world.

Several programs have been conducted by the Office of International Affairs for the benefit of students as well as faculty members. Many eminent Professors from reputed Universities from Australia, Turkey, Russia, the United States of America and the United Kingdom had visited our campus and have opened the door for our students and faculty members for higher studies, research proposals and innovative projects

Higher Education Cell

The Higher Education Cell of KCG College of Technology provides best training for IELTS, TOEFL, GATE, GMAT and GRE courses. Our experienced counsellors motivate studentsto identify the professional goals which helps them to make a wiser academic decision and gives personal guidance forselecting suitable master’s or Ph.D.courses that perfectly fit personal goals. We do provide information to our students about the various international, institutional and government scholarships for higher education.

The objectives of the higher education cell are:

  • To create awareness among undergraduate engineering students about the importance of higher studies
  • To provide information about studies, research and scholarships to students willing to pursue higher education either in India or abroad
  • To establish contacts with organizations such as USIEF, British Council, and DAAD Information offices and invite the representatives to talk to our students about higher education system in their respective countries
  • To help students in their preparation for international examinations such as IELTS, TOEFL, GMAT and GRE
  • To create opportunities for the students to learn a foreign language such as German, French, Japanese and Korean.

Events organized

The following events are organized on a regular basis:

  1. Boot Camp on Higher Education in the US (EducationUSA, Unites States India Education Foundation (USIEF).  It is a full-day program.Higher Education Opportunities in English-speaking countries – Australia, Canada, UK, USA, New Zealand (IDP Chennai team) It is a 2-hour session.
  2. A workshop on writing Statement of Purpose (SOP)
  3. A session IELTS, TOFEL, GRE, GMAT and GATE is organised every year to create the awareness among the students
  4. A session on GATE/CAT/GMAT….
  5. GATE Coaching
  6. Training for TOEFL and IELTS candidates
  7. Sessions on How to Prepare for Higher Studies Abroad
  8. Sessions on scholarship opportunities in different countries. Interactions with various university representatives/professors when they visit the campus.
  9. Education Fairs: -Education Fairs conducted by various embassies and organizations provide students with opportunities to interact with academics representing different universities.  Our students are encouraged to attend the education fairs and seminars on higher education held in Chennai.

International  Competition

As a part of International Affairs activities, some of our students were sent to the World Festival of Youth at Sochi, Russia. Eight students from our Institution participated in the International Event that covered students from 150 countries.

The program gave tremendous technical experience and the team from our college received the Team cooperation award. In addition, we have been invited to take part in the event year 2018 without the registration fee of 1000 USD. Our team secured the 10th place in the world standings and the first place among the Indian competitors.

1. WTUN INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS COMPETITION

This competition is about addressing the environmental issues, WTUN’s chosen United Nations Substantiable Development Goal with a new and innovation solution. All the six teams listed below submitted the project proposals and got selected for next rounds.

2. Two projects were selected for the final phase of the competition Technology Infusion Grand challenge Asia- La Trobe University.

They received the sum of AUD $200 and AUD $ 500, which will help them to develop their prototype.

5. International Competition

IUCEE Mission NEP 2020 conducted a competition to collect real world examples relevant to each concept in these (physics, mathematics, chemistry, programming, graphics, workshop) courses. The students listed below won the cash awards in May 2021 for the video submission on the above concepts.

6.International Virtual Exhibition

7. International Webinar by KCG- Faculty

An International webinar titled “An overview of AI based Prediction and Mapping of Infectious Diseases using Environmental and Climatic Determinants (ECD) derived from Satellite Images” was presented by Dr. V. Thulasi Bai and Ms. K. Jaraline Kirubavathy of ECE department on 26th March, 2021 via MS Teams for the UG and PG Students of University of Bari Aldo Moro, Italy.

8.Online Summer School Program

Nanduri Achyut, III year, ECE department attended the Ubaya Online Summer School Program II – 2021, University of Surabaya, Indonesia from 1st to 5th of February 2021.

10. AUAP-VEX Robotics Training – Faculty

11. AUAP-VEX Robotics Training – Students
