The Physical Education & Sports Department strongly focusing an upgrading the physical and mental health of the individual player. Which result in the development of dynamic personalities.The leads and individual to create a special place in the society. The sports activities and achievements has helped many individuals to secure better job opportunity. The clean area along with the natural gift of fresh air is a boosting asset, which motivates the player to perform better.

Better the establishment of the sports activities were carried out by the Department of Physical Education, KCG College of Technology was greatly helped in conducting the various sports activities time to time and spread the scope and importance of Sports among the youngsters.

The tournaments like zonal and inter zonal, activities were conducted through the Department of Physical Education successfully. For these tournaments, even the Partial financial support was given to the Department of Physical Education &Sports by the Management. The special coaching is given to the players selected for different evens to be participated in the zonal and inter zonal /All India Inter University sports.

Along with above importance sports activities, even the Inter University tournaments for various events like Football, Volleyball, Boxing, Judo, Kho-Kho, Cricket, Basketball, Hockey, Table-Tennis are also arranged.

The separate facilities are provided to the College team players who are sent to for Zonal, Inter Zonal tournaments and selection trials to select the University team.

Some of the great sport personalities have also shown there highly profile at Inter National, Olympic, Asian Games Common Wealth Games even they achieved Gold, Sliver and Bronze Medals like B.Manoj, Para-Olympians who took part in world and Asian Championship.

Modernization of major sports evens is taking place worldwide and sport persons have to be provided necessary infrastructure of world standard as they have to be trained in scientific manner. Sportsmen and women in addition have to be acquainted with new rules and regulations of the games and event as per international standards and norms.

The Sports Department is focusing strongly and improving coaching techniques, modern scientific approaches and the development of infrastructure. In future more attention shall be given to generating sportsman to compete the Inter National Competition.

KCG is recognised as much for its illustrious sporting tradition as it is for its excellence in education. Over the past 20 years, the college has been home to some of the world’s greatest sportsmen like B.Manoj, Paralympians who took part in world and Asian Championship.

That history translates into a vibrant sports scene in KCG today. With a vast range of sports clubs, the College is one of the country’s leading centres for student sport. KCG regularly places in the top 20 Colleges in Tamilnadu among 600 odd colleges in Anna University competition, and a range of scholarships for elite athletes are available.

  • Tamil Selvan, II-Civil won the Anna University Inter Zone boxing championship held at Pavai Engineering College and representing Anna University in the all India University boxing championship to be held at Lovely Professional University Punjab this month

  • Department of Physical Education, KCG College of Technology, Venue: Dr. A.P.J. Abdul Kalam Auditorium: 4th K.C.G. Verghese Memorial Invitational Interschool – Chess Tournament – for Under 18 (Boys & Girls) was held on 8th January 2022.
  • Ms. B. Savithashri, Women International Master and World No.2 in Under 15 was the Special Guest and distributed the prizes.  192 students from 92 Schools participated in our chess tournament.   Overall the tournament was a grand success.
  • Chimala Dileep Reddy and Pinjari Mahaboob Basha of I-Year-AERO won the runner up in 8th Ananthapur District Football league 2021-22.

The Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports under the aegis of the Fit India Movement has developed Age Appropriate Fitness Protocols named as G.O.A.L.S. (Goals for Active Life Style) for different age groups categorized as 05-18 years, 18-65 years and 65+ years. These protocols have been launched by the Hon’ble Prime Minister in the ‘Fit India Dialogue’ programme held on 24th September 2020 while celebrating the 1st Anniversary of Fit India Movement. These protocols consist of fitness tests based on various fitness components and suggested activities to improve the same.
