A two day workshop on “Automotive Hands on Training” was conducted on 21st& 22nd May / 22nd& 23rd May 2018. The workshop was conducted for the third year Mechanical Engineering students. Total 57 students registered for the workshop and it was divided into 6 batches. On day one in the forenoon session, Orientation program was conducted in the seminar hall and brief introduction about the internal combustion engines and its working were given. In the afternoon session, 3 batches have been allotted with bike engine and 3 batches with car engine. The students were given training about the dismantling of the engines given to them.
On day two in the forenoon session, students were trained to assemble the dismantled engines. After completing the assembling session of the given engine, the batches were exchanged to other types of engine for dismantling it. In the afternoon session there were trained to assemble the given engine. Troubleshooting of the engines was also taught during the training session.
Resource person was Mr. Xavier Jaganathan and team from “Goodwin Industries”, Chennai. The feedback was later collected and workshop was found to be useful for the participants.
