As part of the Memorandum of Understanding with Rajiv Gandhi Memorial Telecom Training Centre (RGMTTC), BSNL, Meenambakkam, Chennai, the department of Electronics and Communication Engineering arranged three-day value added course on “GSM and Broadband Communication” for second year B section ECE students from 18th July 2017 to 20th July 2017 at RGMTTC, BSNL, GST Road, Meenambakkam, Chennai – 600016.
Forty students from second year ECE B-section attended the three-day value added course on Global System for Mobile Communication (GSM) and Broadband Communication. First day forenoon session discussed the topic on GSM by Mr. P. Senthilvelan. He explained about the architecture and operation of the GSM technology. In the afternoon session detailed explanation on 3G and 4G communication was explained by Ms. S. Bagyalakshmi. For the second day, forenoon session topic on WiFi and WiMax was explained by Ms. R. Sumathi. During the afternoon session an overview on broadband communication was discussed by Ms. R. Padmadevi. On the last day, forenoon session MODEM Configuration was taken by Ms. S. Meenakshi and for the afternoon session topic on Digital Subscriber Line Access Multiplexer (DSLAM) Configuration was explained by Ms. S. Vijayalakshmi. All the trainers are from RGMTTC, BSNL, meenambakkam, Chennai. All the sessions were very interactive and explained the advanced concepts with real-time visualization. The Programme was coordinated by Dr. Jose Anand, Associate Professor/ECE, and the following three faculties, Ms. M. Felcy Jeba Malar, Assistant Professor/ECE, Ms. G. Saranya, Assistant Professor/ECE, & Ms. V. Priyanka, Assistant Professor/ECE, accompanied with the students for the three-day value added course at BSNL, Chennai.
