The Department of EIE, KCG College of Technology conducted Two Day National Level Programme on “Contemporary Approaches on IIoT in Real Time Environment” on 04th and 05th December 2017. The inauguration was started with a welcome speech by Dr.N.Bharathi, Head of the Department (EIE) following with felicitation by Dr.G.Prabhakaran, Principal. The Inaugural speech was given by chief guest Dr.R.Venkatesan Scientist G , Group Head Ocean Observation Systems, NIOT, Chennai. He gave a lecture on Internet of Things – IoT Industrial Applications Real Time. The souvenir of National Conference was released by the chief guest and received by the dignitaries. The programme came to an end with the vote of thanks by Mr. C. Vijay, Assistant Professor, EIE.
SESSION-I
“Applications of Embedded Systems in IIoT” by Dr. Uppu Ramachandraiah , Professor & Head , Dept of Electrical Science Engineering, HIET, Padur Campus.
Dr. Uppu Ramachandraiah started the session with a brief introduction on IoT such as characteristics, advantages and need for IIoT in Industries . The session moved on to the conventional techniques like Industrial Automation, about PLC (programmable logic controller ) and DCS panel design . After that he introduced the basics of IIoT and its application in industries, the evolution of IoT in the emerging Industry 4.0. Other topics such as role of embedded systems in the field of IIoT, cloud computing, Cyber Security Systems, IoT in the field of Building Automation and upcoming trends of IIoT in Automobile Technologies. The session was made much more informative with many video clips depicting the function of IoT in Automation. The session ends with the good interaction between participants and the resource person.
SESSION-II
“Industrial IoT-A Practical Guide to Build Simple IoT Devices and Hands on Training on IoT ” by Dr.G.Muthukumaran & Mr. Omprakash , HIET, Padur Campus.
Dr.G.Muthukumaran started the session with simple Real Time examples of IIoT. The session continued with hands on demonstration of Smart Automation to control electrical appliances depending on Human Temperature and Remote control of Electrical Applications using Wi-Fi mobile Network.

SESSION-I
“Industry 4.0” by Mr. A. Sivaraman , Chief Executive (Instrumentation) Vipra Projects & Engineers.
Mr.A.Sivaraman started the session with general introduction about Industry 4.0 and continued with the approaches of IIoT in topics such as Time for Diversify, Technology and Services. The session continued with in Time for Diversify how the students have to be trained in core field and as well in software engineering to develop the concepts of IIoT. Regarding Technology, he continued with conventional methods and latest technologies which are used in industries and how the skills of operating personnel to be updated to adapt the technologies. In the area of Services, he gave examples of customer friendly companies and social network services like OLA, Uber, Twitter, Facebook, Whats App as leading in customer services. He also named some companies like Tanjara failed to adapt new technologies and inability to meet the customer demands.
SESSION-II
National conference on IIoT – Dr.E.Sathish, Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science –Chair for conference
Participants from various colleges presented paper on different topics and at the end of the presentation feedback and suggestions were given to the participants by the chair.
The two days programme ended with certificate distribution, feedback and suggestions about the program by the participants.
