Adolescence stage is a stress and storm period. During this crucial period they enter the college life and are exposed to a new environment and people. They are in search of their identity and freedom and are more curious to exercise their freedom, explore and experiment of whatever they do, see or come across.

In this stage they are easily prone to any kind of habits. Exercising discipline and being cautious is a bit challenging. They are easily vulnerable and get into the habits of smoking, alcohol consuming and using other substances which are highly addictive by nature. So, as an institution, it is our responsibility to educate our students on the substance abuse and its consequences.

An awareness program on Substance Abuse was conducted for I year students in their respective classrooms by Ms D. Revathy, Student Counsellor @ KCG College of Technology.

This program created an awareness amongst the students about the addictive nature, ill effects and the consequences of Substance Abuse.
