Bhopal
Internatioal F-9 (Go Karting) Championship(IF9GKC), conducted by KK Motors& Koshi Motors at RPM racing circuit, Bhopal from 06-09-2017 to 09-09-2017. Totally 45 colleges and universities all over India actively participated in this event.
The event comprises of both static and dynamic tests in which teams have to equally concentrate on all these tests in order to perform well in the event.
Static Tests:-
Technical inspection:
It consists of a safety scrutiny that declares the vehicle to be safe for racing. Around 22 teams cleared technical inspection this year. Team FRICTION V 2.0 was the first team from south india and overall to clear Technical inspection.
Design, Cost and Business presentations:
Our team presented their design, cost and business reports at the event successfully.
Dynamic Events:-
Acceleration & Brake test:-
For participating in further events it is mandatory to clear the brake and acceleration tests. In this teams they have to run their vehicles for a flat run of 35 metres with a minimum speed of 25 km/hr. Friction V2.0 was the first team to clear both acceleration and break test from south India and all over India.
Skid pad test:-
The skidpad tests the turning radius and cornering stability of the vehicle.Our vehicle completed the course in 38 seconds without knocking any cones.
Autocross test:
The autocross test tests the handling and cornering capability of the vehicle
Endurance test:
The endurance race tests the durability and reliability of the vehicle. The vehicle has to cover 25kM continuously without any malfunction. This is done by running 12 laps in RPM kart racing trackwhere each driver covers 6 laps. The lap times of the vehicles are noted and points are allotted according to the vehicle’s performance. Only 17 vehicles participated in endurance after the pre-scrutiny of which only 10 cars completed the full 25 kms. Our vehicle is one of the 10 to successfully complete the race.
Team FRICTION V 2.0 completed all the static and dynamic events successfully and expect a good overall position in the team rankings. We are confident that with our college’s support and the experience we have gained this year, we can reach much greater heights in the next event.
