Build2Learn session for the girl students was conducted on 14th July 2018 at KMC auditorium. The volunteers from Build2Learn came to our premises to facilitate girl students in various septa. Ms.Sruthi of final year CSE also turned up to support the students. The event starts at 1.30 pm with an introduction about the club and handed over the session to Ms. Bhavani, a volunteer of Build2Learn Team, an alumnus of KCG. She has started the session by introducing her team member Mr. Asish Cherian, a student of Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science. She shared the motto of the program- Build2Learn is an initiative by a group of volunteers to help people learn to programme by building useful micro-products- Build to Learn and Learn to Build. Around 36 students had participated in the session. The students have been grouped into a different category and they started working as a group in different domains like web applications, basics of Python programming and Android Applications. The volunteers helped each group then there and explained the basic concepts of the applications. The session ended at 3.15 pm with students feedback. Most of the students shared that the program was very much useful and they would have expecting same kind of events hereafter. As a suggestion of improvement students said, they need more time to do more practice.

Micro Product Workshop

The Department of Information Technology had taken an initiative with the support of our Industry Mentor, Mr.DoraiThodla to strengthen the programming and problem solving skills among the students across the departments by helping them to build micro products.Around 25 students from various departments(CSE,IT,ECE,E&I and EEE) are attending the sessions. The session commenced at 1.40 pm and Mr.DoraiThodla ,Industry mentor was the resource person for the session. He gave an insight about Internet of things and how to make smart world with the help of IOT. Then the students were grouped into teams of 3 to 4 based on their area of interest. The students were asked to identify a problem and one person from each team were asked to present their problems and ideas.

         The session commenced at 1.40 pm and Mr.DoraiThodla ,Industry mentor and a member of  his team Mr.Ashish were the resource persons for the session.The students were taught about the basics of python and also he suggested a website(Xin Y minutes)for selflearning during the session.MrDoraiThodla also had helped the students for learning.Around 2.30 Mr. Ashish introduced Flask and HTML for Web App Development which was found very useful for the students. Also he gave awareness about the learning resources available online for App Development in Android.
