One day Guest Lecture on Advancements in Special Electrical Machines was conducted by the Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering for the final year students (2014 -2018 batch) on 18.07.2017. The resource person was Mr. Azhagar Raj from Hybrise Technologies. He briefly introduced the advancements made in Special Electrical Machines especially the switched reluctance motor.

- Design of SRM
- Torque production in SRM
- Real time applications of SRM in industries
The guest lecture was delivered both with chalk and talk explanations and effective video presentation. The students had an effective interaction with the resource person and where asked to solve some problems related to the design of switched reluctance motor. The lecture concluded with a thanking note by Dr. S. Solai Manohar.
