NCC Parade & Command.
The objective of National Cadet Corps is to develop character, comradeship, and capacity for leadership among youth in India. The KCG NCC Company motivates the students with best training and the ideals of selfless service. The training inculcates team spirit, a sense of nationalism and it also helps in developing the overall personality of an individual and thus enabling them to become a responsible citizen of this nation.
The KCG NCC Company (Senior Division and Senior Wing) under the control of 1 (TAMILNADU) BATTALION NCC, MADRAS – A GROUP was started in 2011. The second year students are enrolled for duration of three years. The first batch of SWs (Girl Cadets) in NCC was started in 2017.
With a sense of nationalism and secularism outlook the KCG NCC Company is always carrying out activities with a distinct emphasis on social services, discipline and adventure training. Periodically, some of the Cadets are selected to undergo the adventurous and rigorous military training in attachment with regular Army training Centres, rock climbing, Mountaineering Camps, Trekking Camps, Army Attachment Camps, National Integration Camps etc., The Cadet regularly take part in the Inter-Collegiate NCC competitions. The KCG NCC Company also organizes social service events like Anti – Drug Rally, Blood Donation Camp, Anti – Plastic Rally, visiting orphanages and old age homes and creating awareness among the public regarding Consumer Awareness, Cancer & AIDS awareness, etc. The Cadets are encouraged to complete the “B” and “C” certificate examinations and also encouraged to take up career in Armed forces like Army, Navy and Air Force. KCG NCC Company won an Overall Champion of Champion trophy at Theaga Fest 2024. This was our first overall trophy.
KCG NCC Cadets Reach New Heights: Selected for Top National and Overseas Camps
KCG NCC Company at KCG College of Technology has made history as two of its cadets have been selected for prestigious national camps known as the All India Thal Sainik Camp and the Overseas Deployment Camp. This accomplishment marks a significant milestone for the unit.
Cadet Swetha B, a 3rd-year student from the Department of Information Technology, has been selected to participate in the All India Thal Sainik Camp (AITSC) in Delhi. She will compete in the map reading and firing competitions, representing KCG NCC company of 1 TN Battalion NCC unit. Her exceptional map reading and sharpshooting skills earned her a spot in this esteemed camp, particularly in firing.The selection process began in late May, and saw Cadet Swetha excel among NCC cadets from various institutions, demonstrating her proficiency in hitting targets from 25 metres. Her outstanding performance has made her the best among her peers. The camp, which is a highly esteemed event in the NCC calendar, is scheduled from 1st to 13th September 2024.
Cadet Senior Under Officer Swanand Kasar, a final year student from the Department of Aerospace, is another cadet from the Company who has been selected for the Overseas Deployment of 1TS Autumn term-24 camp. This camp, similar to a Youth Exchange Program, is a rare opportunity for participants to be exposed to international cultures and naval operations.
CSUO Swanand Kasar is the sole representative from the Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry, and Andaman & Nicobar Directorate at the national level. During the camp Swanand will get an opportunity to embark on a Naval Cruise, visiting countries like UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and Oman. Swanand’s journey to this achievement began in his second year of NCC, where he excelled as a best cadet in the RDC selection camp. He has since attended various camps, including the basic leadership camp, advanced leadership camp, and national integration camps held in Coimbatore and Kerala. His outstanding performance and leadership skills caught the attention of the 1TN Battalion NCC unit commanding officer, Lieutenant Colonel Chitra Subash. The Overseas Deployment Camp, scheduled from September 27 to October 29, 2024, is a rare opportunity for NCC cadets. Swanand’s selection is a testament to his dedication, communication skills, and leadership abilities.
These two achievements are a significant milestone for KCG NCC Company, as they are the first cadets from the college to attend these prestigious national camps.
Apart from these historic achievements, the KCG NCC Company cadets have emerged victorious in various competitions conducted by different battalions and units from various institutions in recent years.
The cadets have wonimpressive overall champion trophies from four out of five competitions conducted by various NCC units. The trophies they won include:
- Overall Winner at Theaga Fest ’24, conducted by Sir Theagaraya College of 1 TN Battalion NCC unit of Chennai A group.
- Overall Winner at CADO Guru 2024, organised by the Guru Nanak College of 1 TN Battery NCC unit, Chennai A group.
- Overall Winner at CADO BHIM 2024, hosted by Dr. Ambedkar Arts College of 1 TN Battalion Chennai A group NCC unit, Chennai A group.
- Overall Winner at CADO Fest 2024, held by the DG Vaishnav College of 1 TN Battalion, Chennai A group.
Award for the Best Uniform discipline in dressing and the Cherry Blossom award instituted by the Guru Nanak College of 1 TN Battery NCC Unit, Chennai A group for drill competition are other accolades they brought to the Company.
These achievements highlight the dedication and excellence of the cadets under the leadership of Lieutenant Akin, Associate NCC Officer of 1 TN Battalion KCG NCC Company, setting a new standard for future participants.

REPUBLIC DAY CELEBRATIONS-2022 | ||
The 75th Republic day of India was celebrated at KCG College of Technology on 26 January 2022. TheRepublic day celebrations started at 0830hrs and continued till 1015hrs. The ANO Lieutenant Akin C and Cadets from KCG NCC Company participated in the celebration along with students, faculties and Principal. All Cadets reached the college at 0645hrs. The celebration started with Guard of Honor to the college Principal and our Indian National Flag was hoisted followed by NCC song and Indian National Anthem. The principal addressed the students, faculties and Cadets. Sweets were distributed and the event was concluded. Also the event was streamed on google meet meeting and cadets unable to participate in the celebration because of pandemic joined the meeting and celebrated the republic day virtually. |
Kcg Ncc company also conducted the inter college online Group discussion competition and quiz competition. Cadets from various colleges participated enthusiastically and it was healthy competition among them. The opening address was given by LT. AKIN C to the participants and it was a great motivating speech. Questions from current affairs, history, Armed forces and general knowledge questions were asked in Quiz competition and based on the score top 3 were selected and E-certificate was provided. For GROUP DISCUSSION cadets are divided in to 4 Slots. And top 6 cadets were selected for the final round of group discussion on the topic, Associate Ncc officer of KCG NCC COMPANY Lt Akin C judged the final round of group discussion and top 3 cadets were selected and E-certificate was distributed. |
The 75thIndependence Day was celebrated on 15-08-2021 at KCG College of Technology. The 100ft Tricolourflag was hoisted by the Director of KCG College of Technology, Dr.Annie Jacob, and Lt.Akin, Associate NCC Officer was supporting the event.The Principal, Dean, HoDs, faculty, and students have added colorsto this event. The NCC flag was Hoisted by Lt.Akin, Associate NCC Officer. There was a Contingent drill, speech, cultural and flag area briefing by NCC cadets during the event. SPECIAL ACHIEVEMENT:
- LCPL MAHAVISHNU and CDT SATHISH KUMAR were selected for ALL INDIA SHIVAJI TREKKING CAMP held at Kholapur, Maharashtra from 02 Dec 2018 to 07 Dec 2018. They a trekked a total distance of 52 Kms during the course of camp.
ACHIEVEMENT IN INTER-COLLEGE COMPETITIONS:
- CUO GOPALAKRISHNAN P was selected to attend the SSB SCREENING CAMP held at OTA Kamptee from 09 April 2018 to 18 April 2018. The cadets underwent screening process and they were separated in to 7 different groups according to the mark obtained in the screening process which made Officers easy to access and develop leadership quality of the cadets.
- The KCG NCC Company is proud to say that 7 cadets (6SD and 1SW) from our college have attended the TAL SAINIL CAMP held at Valliammai Engineering College from 04 Jun 2018 to 13 Jun 2018 conducted by 1(TN) SIG company. CPL DINESJ KUMAR V and CDT LOBALATHA were selected for the further selection camps.
- Our cadets attended CATC CUM RDC CAMP held at DHANALAKSHIMI COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING TAMBARAM CHENNAI conducted by 1 TN BN NCC unit from 24 Aug 2018 to 02 Sep 2018. Cadets participated in the cultural activities and Contingent.
- CPL VIGNESH and LCPL DINESH attended the BLC Camp at GOVT ARTS COLLEGE, KUMBAKONAM conducted by 8 (TN) BN NCC. CPL VIGNESH won 1st place in Singing Competition.
- The cadets participated in the RDC camp at Sathyabama University from 28 Aug 2018 to 06 Aug 2018.The camp was conducted by 1 TN MEDICAL UNIT. The cadets were part of BC and Contingent Drill.
- Our cadets attended CATC CUM RDC CAMP held at DHANALAKSHIMI COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING TAMBARAM CHENNAI conducted by 1 TN BN NCC unit from 28 Sep 2018 to 06Oct 2018. Cadets participated in the cultural activities and Contingent. LCPL KARTHIK RAJA was selected to represent Madras – A group at IGC Camp.
- LCPL KARTHIK RAJA K represented our Madras – A Group in INTER GROUP COMPETITIONS held at BANNARI AMMAN COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING, COIMBATORE from 08 Oct 2018 to 17 Oct 2018. And we are proud that he got selected for RDC LAUNCH 1 Camp.
- LCPL KARTHIK RAJA was part of the Contingent and PMs RALLY in Launch Camp. The camp was held at KONGU COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING, ERODE.
SOCIAL SERVICE ACTIVITIES:
- Our cadets participated YOGA DAY PROGRAMME at Madras Christian College, Tambaram. On the occasion world yoga day the 1(TN) BN organised the yoga day function on June 21 in Madras Christian College, Tambaram. Yoga asana were done by cadets under the teaching of yoga master from ISHA yoga foundation.
- Our cadets conducted a DRUG AWARENESS PROGRAMME at GOVERNMENT HIGHER SECONDARY SCHOOL, THORAIPAKKAM. The event was conducted as part of the INTERNATIONAL DAY OF DRUG ABUSE on 26th JUNE 2018. The cadets interacted with the school students and cleared the myths prevailing in their mind.
- The cadets participated in the FIRE SAFETY ORIENTATION held at our college on 28 Jul 2018.
- The cadets helped in organizing KCG Engenius’ 18 events on 31 Aug 2018. The event marks an important day in all our life as just 42 NCC cadets managed a crowd of over 2000 students.
- The cadets took part in coastal cleaning in marina beach on the occasion of world clean up day. The lion’s club international region 11 organised this event along with 1(TN) BN NCC group. The coastal area of the beach is totally cleaned by the volunteers and NCC cadets in 2hrs then they disposed all the waste which is collected.
- The KCG NCC COMPANY has organized the SWACHH BHARAT ORIENTATION in Chennai at Kannagai Nagar, Government hospital and park on 25 September 2018. The cadets collected all the waste materials like cotton, plastic covers from the hospital. And they had put it in the garbage of the hospital. The cadets cleaned the entire park in the Kannagai Nagar so that those who are using the park won’t get any disease due to wastes that are in the park.
- The KCG NCC Company has organised a TRAFFIC CONTROL event along with Thoraipakam Traffic Police department. It was a three day event held on 07, 10, 14 Dec 2018 from 4:30 PM to 7:00 PM each day. The cadets managed and regulated the entire traffic.
SPECIAL ACHIEVEMENT:
- LCPL ASHWIN R and LCPL KARTHIK BALAJI were part of the ‘Madras Republic Day Camp (MRDC)’ parade on 26 Jan 2018 at Marina Beach. They were awarded trophies by DDG NCC COMMODORE VIJESH GARG, VSM.
ACHIEVEMENT IN INTER-COLLEGE COMPETITIONS:
- Cadets attended CATC CAMP held at VIT UNIVERSITY, CHENNAI from 14-06-2017 to 23-06-2017.Cadets participated in the Guard of Honour, Tent pitching, and other Cultural events. LCPL SHAIK ARIF AHMED won first place in INDIVIDUAL TALENT.LCPL ASHWIN R has been selected to do Guard of Honour to the GROUP COMMANDER of MADRAS-A group.
- LCPL GOPALAKRISHNAN attended BLC camp held at Periyar Maniammai University, Vallam, Thanjavur conducted by 8 TN BN NCC from 13-07-2017 to 22-07-2017. Cadets learned basic of SSB interviews and 5day procedure that takes place in the SSB interview. Cadets learned about SSB interviews selections through mock test and mock interview.
- LCPL R GAUTAM attended RDC Selection camp held at Sri Sairam Engineering College, Tambaram by 1 TN BTY NCC from 27-07-2017 to 06-08-2017. He was part of the BEST CADETS and had his Group Discussion, Extempore and Personal Interview during the camp.
- Our cadets attended CATC CUM RDC CAMP held at DHANALAKSHIMI COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING TAMBARAM CHENNAI conducted by 1 TN BN NCC unit from 17-09-2017 to 27-09-2017. Cadets won 2nd place in Tent Pitching, 2nd place in Guard of Honour, 1st place in Mime and CSUO DHARMARAJ won 3rd place in 200m sprint.
- The cadets attended Infantry Attachment Training Camp held at LINE OF RANGES, INFANTRY ARMY. It was 14 days camp conducted by 25th Madras Group. Madras – A Group was awarded the most disciplined contingent during the camp.
- LCPL GOPALAKRISHHNAN P attended ALC camp held at JAYARAM COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING conducted by 3 (TN) CTC NCC from 06 DEC 2017 to 17 DEC 2017. He was one among the top 35 out of 500 cadets to be selected for the ALC Camp.
- The KCG NCC Company participated in CADO FEST- conducted by DGV College on 14-02-17 to 16-02-17.CDT VIGNESH ADITYA K S and CDT DINESH KUMAR K got into top 8 in BEST CADET competition among 25cadets. CSUO S DHARMARAJ has won 1st place in general obstacle and LCPL J A ABIRAJ has won the 2nd place in debate.
- The cadets from KCG NCC Company attend CADO ALPHA conducted by ALPHA ARTS AND SCINCE College. CDT VIGNESH and CDT DINESH represented our college in Best Cadet event. CDT BHARATH KUMAR and CDT LOBA LATHA represented our college in LADAYE event.
SOCIAL SERVICE ACTIVITIES:
- Cadets had a immense pleasure to conduct the YOGA Day program on 21st June 2017. The Chief Guest DR. S KALAISELVI, a Yoga teacher showed a demo for aasana’s like, PUJANKASANA, MAYURASANA, UKITA PADAMASANA and SAMADI AASANA. Cadets felt rejuvenated at the end of the program.
- Cadets conducted a drug awareness program inside and outside our campus. During this event the cadets spread awareness among public explaining about drugs causes and effects to them and also by holding banners and distributing pamphlets. During this event cadets regulated traffic in that area by helping public to cross the road.
- The 15th Graduation Day for the students of B.E / B.Tech programmes of 2012-16, M.E programmes of 2014-16 and MCA programme of 2013-16 was held on 12 Jul 2017. The cadets active volunteered for the event.
- Our cadets attended the event Rally for Rivers. It was conducted by ISHA FOUNDATION. Rally for Rivers was launched to save the rivers in the country. The event was organized by Sadhguru JAGGI VASUDEV (Indian Poet) and Chief guests were our Honourable Chief Minister Mr.K.PALANISWAMY and Vice Chief Minister Mr.O.PANNER SELVAM. The main idea of this event is to travel to the various parts of country and educate the current situation of our rivers to citizens of our country.
- The cadets of KCG NCC Company attended the event on Dunamis 2nd Inter School Athletic Meet held at Jawaharlal Nehru stadium. It was conducted by the Hindustan International School on 15.09.2017.
- The Chief Guest for the event was Shri. Bhagwan Singh (Executive Editor, Deccan Chronicle) and the Guest of Honour was Ms. Aishwarya Manivannan (International Silambam Champion).The piloting for the chief guest and guest of Honour was done by the cadets. The cadets helped out the official in various events and made sure that the events went out in a smooth manner.
- The Dengue awareness program was conducted at Karapakkam and Kanagai Nagar. The awareness program was organised by the officials of Karapakkam Municipality. The task was to spread awareness amongst people of the locality about the Dengue mosquitoes and the prevention of its breeding and also the safety measures to follow before and during a dengue.
- The KCG NCC Company has organised a TRAFFIC CONTROL event along with Thoraipakam Traffic Police department. It was an two day event on 19 Jan 2018 and 22 Jan 2018 from 4:30pm to 7pm.
- The cadets volunteered for opening and closing ceremony of HINDUSTAN YOUNG LEADERS CONFERENCE 2018. Our cadets honoured the chief guest AIR MARSHAL S VARTHAMAN PVSM AVSM VM VSM with GUARD OF HONOUR.
- The cadets conducted a SSB Session for all the aspiring defence aspirants of KCG College. This initiative was taken to encourage every student to take up a career in defence irrespective of their gender, religion and demographic location.
- Our college conducted sports day for academic year 2017-2018 on 27-02-2018.The NCC cadets were asked to teach drill to the college students to perform in the sports. The KCG NCC Company helped to organize and conduct the sports day event.
- The KCG COLLEGE OF TECHNOLOGY was happy to organize its 20th College Day. NCC cadets has won some of the awards during college day CSUO DHARMARAJ has won BEST CADET award, CQMS THIRUMALAI has won BREAKING THE BARRIER award and SGT NAVIN has won the special person award on that day.
SPECIAL ACHIEVEMENT:
- CDT K LOGANAND (III EEE) was selected as one of the 20 best cadets from the 1 TNBN Unit and participated in the 70TH INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATIONS on 15 AUG 2016 at St George’s Fort to represent MADRAS – A CONTINGENT in front of our Hon’ble Chief Minister Selvi. J. Jayalalitha and Hon’ble Governor K. Rosaiyah.
ACHIEVEMENT IN INTER-COLLEGE COMPETITIONS:
- Our cadets participated in the RDC/TSC and National Games Selection Camp at VIT Chennai and CDT K LOGANAND was selected as top 10 best cadets for further RDC Selection camps.
- LCPL DHARMARAJ S attended TSC Selection Camp held at VIT Chennai in Jun 2016 and was selected under Best Firer Category for further selections.
- Our cadets participated in the RDC Selection Camp at VIT Chennai in Jul 2016, CPL SAI RAM, LCPL LOGANAND and CDT NAVEENwere selected for further RDC Selection camps.
- Our cadets won 1st place in MIME in CATC Camp held at DCE, Chennai.
- SGT VINOTH and LCPL DHARMARAJ S participated in GUARD OF HONOUR held as part of CATC Camp held at DHANALAKSHMI COLLEGE OF ENGINEERING and won the best GUARD COMMANDER award.
- As part of CADO WOODS 2017 held in Jan 2017, CDT PURUSHOTAMAN and CDT THIRUMALA participated in debate and won 1st and 2nd Place. Our cadets won 2nd place in NIAP. CDT ABIRAJ and CDT BHARAT won 1st place in TSC category.
- ARMY ATTACHMENT CAMP was held at XVIII DOGRA REGIMENT HYDERABAD in Feb 2017, our cadets won places in Drill, Firing and NIAP. CUO SAMAR VIKRANTH P was awarded as the BEST CADET OF ARMY ATTACHMENT CAMP.
- As part of CADO ALPHA 2017 held in Feb 2017, CDT PURUSHOTAMAN participated in debate and won 1st Place. Our cadets won 3rd place in FLAG AREA competition and participated in BC, Drill and NIAP.
- CUO KARTHIKEYAN M participated in SAMARVIR competition which is based on SSB interview of defence services and won 2nd price.
SOCIAL SERVICE ACTIVITIES:
- Our cadets participated in the INTERNATIONAL YOGA DAY CELEBRATIONS held at YMCA Grounds on 21 Jun 2016 and were part of the Largest Meditation Performance which was later acknowledged as record in recent times.
- Cadets volunteered in the opening of HINDUSTAN CRICKET ACADEMY on 20 Aug 2016 and were acknowledged for their invaluable support by the organising team.
- Our cadets took active volunteering in THE DUNAMIS –athletic meet which was presided by SHRI.WALTER ISSAC DEVARAM, IPS (Retd) held on 9th September 2016 at Jawaharlal Nehru stadium, Chennai.
- Our cadets volunteered for the inauguration of PEGASUS EQUESTRIAN HORSE RIDING CLUB on 26 Oct 2016. The chief guest LT. GEN. BOBBY MATTEWS, Commandant – OTA Chennai, presided the opening ceremony by unleashing the balloon in the sky.
- NCC Day celebrations were held on 25 Nov 2016 and our cadets volunteered to run the show successfully.
- Our cadets actively volunteered for the ENGENIUS event held at our college on 07 Jan 2017 and helped the team in conducting various events successfully.
- The Annual Sports Meet of Hindustan Institutions was held on 10 Jan 2017 and our cadets volunteered for the event.
- Our cadets conducted CANCER AWARENESS RALLY on CANCER DAY on 15 Mar 2017. Cadets walked all the way from KARAPAKAM to THORAIPAKAM spreading awareness regarding cancer. Cadets gave a glance information regarding cancer to the public on roads regarding types of cancer and how it is caused.
SPECIAL ACHIEVEMENT:
- KCG NCC cadet S.Nisanth (III AERO) was selected as one of the 20 best cadets from the 1 TAMILNADU BATTALION NCC unit and participated in the ‘Madras Republic Day Camp (MRDC)’ parade on 26 Jan’13 at Marina Beach in front of our Hon’ble Chief Minister Selvi. J. Jayalalitha and Hon’ble Governor K. Rosaiyah.
- Arvind Yogesh of ECE final year has cleared the SSB interview and will join the Indian Army as Lieutenant in July 2016.
NATIONAL ACHIEVEMENT:
- Selva Kumar of Aeronautical final year has represented Tamil Nadu, Pondicherry and Andaman Directorate football team in the NCC National Games 2015 held at New Delhi. He was the Vice Captain of the team.
ACHIEVEMENT IN INTER-COLLEGE COMPETITIONS:
- Ponmani (III ECE) won 1st Prize in Solo Dance competition organized by CATC Camp of 1 TAMILNADU BATTALION NCC at Kendra Vidyalaya, CRPF, Avadi.
- Nisanth (III AERO) won 2nd Prize in Solo Singing Competition organized by CATC-cum-RDC LAUNCH-1 Camp of 1 TAMILNADU BATTALION NCC at Vel Tech Engineering College, Avadi.
- KCG NCC Company won the first place in NIAP-National Integration Awareness Program held at Tamilnadu Ambedkar Law University.
- Yuvraj of Aeronautical final year won the Best Camp Senior at Army Attachment Camp held at Secundrabad.
- Adityan of CSE final year won the Best MC at Army Attachment Camp held at Secundrabad.
- Prabhu of Aeronautical third year won the firstprize in debate competition held at Tamilnadu Ambedkar Law University.
- Manoj Kumar of Mechanical final year won the first place in Solo Dance in CATC camp held at Bharath University in July 2015.
- BackiaGoutham of Mechanical final year won the first place in Extempore in CATCcamp held at Bharath University in July 2015.
- Joseph George of Mechanical second year won the silver medal in Best Cadet in Inter College NCC Fest held at Tamilnadu Ambedkar Law University.
- Devputra of EEE third year won the second place in CATC camp held at Bharath University in July 2015.
- Bhaskar of Aero third year won the second place in CATC camp held at Bharath University in July 2015.
- Adityan of CSE final year won the second prize in Special Talent in CATC camp held at Bharath University in July 2015.
- Prabhu and Samar Vikranth of third year won the second place in Debate in Inter College NCC Fest held at Alpha arts and science college, Porur.
SOCIAL SERVICE ACTIVITIES:
- Anti-Ragging rally was organized by KCG NCC Company in Karapakkam. The rally was followed by an event where Sylendra Babu IPS ADGP of coastal security group was the chief guest.
- KCG NCC Company conducted Dengue Awareness and Cleaning Campaign in Karapakkam area under the supervision of Sanitary Inspector of Karapakkam on 22nd December 2015.
- KCG NCC Company conducted Campus Cleanup Program to clean the campus ravaged by floods on 23rd December 2015.
