The Professional Development Program “Impress & Inspire”, was held from 7 – 9 May, 2018 from 9 am – 5 pm @ KMC Auditorium, KCG College of Technology. All the Heads of the Departments and Senior Professors attended the Program. The Program was inaugurated by Dr G. Prabhakaran, the Principal. Ms Revathy, the Student Counsellor introduced Mr Sengu Paal, the resource person to the participants.
The trainer started his session with 3 promises – for the purpose, interactive and fun filled experiential learning. The “Fire Ball”, activity made the participants feel that anything is possible and it is “ME and the Power of my mind”, will make the difference. The session also threw a light on the types of barriers, leadership qualities and goal setting. The session provided an insight to the participants to know their strengths and weaknesses and to embrace diversity.
Day 2 concentrated on qualities of a good teacher, team building, strategic planning, problem solving and decision making skills. The 6 thinking Hats of Edward De Bono made the participants to analyze and think from various perspectives. The Balloon Sofa Activity gave an experiential learning for team building and team performance.
Day 3 focussed on mastering the time, identifying the time wasters and prioritisation of activities, effective communication and empathy. The Gold mine activity gave the experience of planning and execution skills. By the end of the day the participants were equipped with the necessary skills to lead their team in a smart and effective manner.
The session came to an end with a Vote of Thanks and National Anthem.
