About the
Department

Welcome to the Department of Biomedical Engineering!

The Department of Biomedical Engineering at KCG College of Technology was established in the academic year 2026-27. Positioned at the intersection of core engineering disciplines and modern medicine, the department is dedicated to bridge the gap between engineering innovation, biological sciences, and healthcare delivery by educating engineers capable of designing, developing, and deploying technology to solve complex clinical challenges.

Biomedical Engineering seamlessly integrates principles from Electronics technology, Computer science, Sensor technology, Ergonomics, Signal processing with medical diagnostics and human physiology. Our curriculum is carefully crafted to foster analytical rigor, hands-on technical proficiency, and an entrepreneurial mindset in medical device design, healthcare software development, clinical decision support systems, and point-of-care diagnostics.

Our vision is to be a premier Center of academic excellence, interdisciplinary research, and innovation in Biomedical Engineering, nurturing ethically driven engineers who deliver impactful and affordable healthcare technology solutions globally.

Our objective is to cultivate problem-solving skills, state-of-the-art prototyping facilities, drive student-led research and innovation focused on affordable medical devices, clinical safety, patient-centric technologyand ethical engineering practices.

CORE THRUST AREAS:

Our academic and research-driven initiatives focus on key domain pillars that drive the future of MedTech:

  • Medical Instrumentation & Diagnostic Devices: Design, calibration, and maintenance of biosensors, physiological measurement systems, and therapeutic equipment.
  • Artificial Intelligence & Healthcare Analytics: Application of machine learning, deep learningin medical imaging, bio-signal interpretation, and Clinical Decision Support Systems.
  • Biosignal& Image Processing: Advanced computational techniques for acquiring and analyzing ECG, EEG, EMG, ultrasound, and radiologic imaging modalities.
  • Biomaterials & Rehabilitation Engineering: Development of biocompatible materials, tissue engineering concepts, prosthetics, and assistive technologies for patient care.
