● Aim for a CGPA of 7.0+ (some top companies set this as a cut-off).● However, skills and projects matter more in technical interviews.
For IT/CSE Graduates:● Programming Languages: C, C++, Java, Python (pick at least one).● Data Structures & Algorithms (DSA): Solve problems on LeetCode, GeeksforGeeks, CodeForces, or HackerRank.● Database: SQL (joins, indexing, optimization).● Operating Systems, OOPs, DBMS, Networking, and System Design (for product- based companies).● Web Development (React, Node.js, Django, Spring Boot, etc.) or App Development (Flutter, Android, iOS) for full-stack roles.
For Core Branches (Mechanical, Civil, Electrical, etc.):● Master fundamental concepts.● Learn tools/software related to your domain (AutoCAD, MATLAB, SolidWorks, ANSYS, etc.).● Consider learning Basics of “C”, Python, IoT , or Data Analytics, as they are in demand across industries.
For All Branches:● Basics of Excel, Power BI, SQL for analytics roles.● Cloud technologies (AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud) can be useful.
RESUME TIPS● Keep it to one or two pages (unless you have extensive projects/internships). ● Include skills, projects, internships, achievements, certifications, and extracurriculars.● Use action words like “Developed,” “Implemented,” “Optimized,” etc.Tailor your resume for each job role.

APTITUDE AND REASONING (FOR WRITTEN TEST)● Companies like Cognizant,TCS, Infosys, Wipro, Capgemini, Accenture conduct aptitude tests.● Prepare through our preplacement training & Aptipedia book.● Practice quantitative aptitude, logical reasoning, and verbal ability.
CODING PRACTICE (FOR TECH JOBS)● Solve 1000+ DSA problems on platforms like LeetCode, CodeChef.●Focus on arrays, strings, linked lists, recursion, stacks, queues, graphs, and dynamic programming.● Learn competitive programming (for product-based companies like Google, Microsoft, Amazon, etc.).
GROUP DISCUSSION● Practice GD topics on current affairs, technology trends, or abstract topics.● Stay updated on recent trends (AI, blockchain, sustainability, 5G, etc.).● Be clear, concise, and confident while speaking.
TECHNICAL INTERVIEWS● Prepare frequently asked interview questions from sites like Glassdoor.● Be thorough with projects and internships (you’ll be asked to explain them).● For core branches, revise basic concepts and industrial applications.
