The infrastructure and laboratories in the School of Fashion Technology are well-equipped to meet the needs of researchers and support students in their projects and industrial collaborative research. Faculty members are actively involved in research areas such as automation and productivity improvement in garment manufacturing, product/process optimization and development, design interventions, textile material research, functional clothing, technical textiles, textile value addition, and textile testing and evaluation. The department also focuses on research publications and patent filings. The facilities also enable faculty to provide consultancy services to garment start-ups, textile sector skill councils, and other industry stakeholders. Memorandums of Understanding (MoUs) with garment manufacturers, dyeing and printing industries, and testing and evaluation service centers further strengthen the department’s industry collaborations.
