About the
Department

The Department of Civil Engineering offers an undergraduate programme designed to produce high-quality civil engineers, with a strong emphasis on both fundamental theory and practical application. The department has highly qualified faculty and excellent infrastructure, including state-of-the-art laboratories and modern classrooms equipped with advanced teaching tools. Notably, it is honoured to have Dr. U. Johnson Alengaram, Professor & Director, Centre for Innovative Construction Technology (CICT) Engineering, University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia as a Adjunct Faculty.

The faculty actively engage in research, focusing on generating innovative ideas and applying existing technologies to new challenges. The department undertakes industrial consultancy projects and organizes conferences and workshops for professional engagement.

To enhance the educational experience, industry experts are regularly invited to deliver lectures and interact with students and faculty. Students gain practical knowledge through field visits to industries, dams, irrigation structures, and construction sites. We are proud of a 100% placement record in core companies.
