NSS

The NSS programme aims to cultivate a sense of service, teamwork, and dignity of labour. By connecting students directly with communities, the scheme fosters personal growth and social responsibility. Through hands-on projects, students gain practical knowledge and valuable life lessons.

KCG Tech’s NSS Unit was established in 2004 and is a vibrant unit dedicated to making a positive impact. Our volunteers are instrumental in serving not only within our campus but also in other schools and colleges. Year on year, the various programmes conducted by the NSS have wrought a remarkable change in our students’ outlook and their
attitude towards life and society.

Covid 19 Vaccination Booster Dose Camp

On 22nd April 2022, Covid 19 Vaccination Booster Dose was conducted by Dr. V. Gopal, NSS Programme Officer at KCG College of Technology. The program was inaugurated with the General Health Checkup by our Principal Dr.P.Deiva Sundari and Greater Chennai Health Corporation members

We are happy in sharing with you the information that the NSS of KCG College of technology organized Covid’19 vaccination Booster Dose Camp, cooperating with the Greater Corporation of Chennai, successfully vaccinating 125 of members of our teaching, non-teaching faculty with the Booster dosage of the vaccine and students for second dosage.

World Earth Day – Seed Ball Sowing

The NSS unit of KCG College of Technology jointly organised a seed ball throwing event on 22nd April 2022 in view of World Earth day 2022. This year the theme of the World Earth Day was Invest in our planet and the Seed Ball Sowing was a pertinent event for the theme.

The NSS unit has arranged 25 seed balls containing Neem seeds for the event and the seed balls were thrown near the lake situated on the college road. Small pits were made on the banks of the lake and seed balls were placed and closed with the soil. Dr. V Gopal, NSS Coordinator, and staff members Dr. Jose Anand, and Dr. R. Lakshmipathy along with the 6 NSS students of KCG took part in the event.

General Health Check-Up Camp

On 22nd April 2022, General Health Check-Up was conducted by Dr. V. Gopal, NSS Programme Officer at KCG College of Technology. The program was inaugurated with the General Health Checkup by our Principal Dr.P.Deiva Sundari, Dr Vasundara S. P , Dr Shalini L , Dr Subhu Lakshmi S. We are happy in sharing with you the information that the NSS of KCG College of technology organized General Health Check-Up Camp cooperating with The Homeopathic Cure plus of Chennai, successfully general heath checkup list (BP Checking, Sugar Checking, Auscultation, General health management tips, Diet plan for the sugar and BP, Psychological guidelines etc) for 94 of members of our Teaching and Non-Teaching Faculty

NSS-Blood Donation Camp

On 2nd April 2022, Blood Donation Camp was conducted by Dr. V. Gopal, NSS Programme Officer at KCG College of Technology. The program was inaugurated with the blood donation by our Principal Dr.P.Deiva Sundari, and J Madanagopal Rao, Senior Counsel -Central Government and it went on well with the enthusiastic participants of KCG College of Technology, staffs and students. At the end of the program 100 units of blood was donated by the donors to save many lives.
We thank our Management, Staffs and Students for giving their valuable support to make the NSS activity a grand success.

NSS-Blood Donation Camp

On 9th August 2019, Blood Donation Camp was conducted by Mr. V. Gopal, NSS Programme Officer at KCG College of Technology. The program was inaugurated with blood donation by the college Principal Dr.G.Prabhakaran and Lions Club Members .It went on well with enthusiastic participants -staff and students of KCG College of Technology. At the end of the program 261 units of blood was donated by the donors to save many lives. The Blood Bank & Research Centre is run by Sri. Mahalakshmi Charitable Health Trust, at T.
Nagar, Chennai.

We thank our Management, Staff and Students for giving their valuable support to make the NSS activity a grand success.

Independence Day Program

On Independence Day celebrated on 15th August, 2019, students and faculty members filled with a feeling of patriotism and dedication gathered together and the celebration started with the hoisting of the National Flag by Dr.G.Prabhakaran, Principal,KCG College of Technology. The Principal in his speech, highlighted that the students should feel proud to be ‘Indians’ and being a citizen of a large democratic country. He reminded all should participate in voting which is a fundamental right of every citizen. Being in an educated society, we should maintain discipline at all places and at all times. By maintaining silence we never lose anything like pride, instead we gain a lot of appreciation. He also gave an insight on the various accomplishments achieved by college and motivated the crowd for bringing more laurels for the college through their accomplishments.

As a gratitude of appreciation, certificates for the NCC Officer Mr.C.Akin and NCC students were issued by Dr.G.Prabhakaran, Principal ,Dr Sarukesi, Dean Academic , Dr Anitha Manuel ,Dean (SA) and Professors of KCG College of Technology. The function ended with the National Anthem.

Tree Plantation Programme

Tree plantation programme was conducted by KCG College of Technology, Chennai along with NSS Cell on 24th September,2019. An extensive Plantation Programme was launched on the occasion of our Chairperson Dr Elizabeth Verghese’s birthday. The programme was inaugurated by Dr.G.Prabhakaran -Principal, Dr Sarukesi-Dean Academic, Dr.P Deiva Sundari – Associate Dean Industry Partnership & Corporate Affairs, HoDs, Staff and Students.. The dignitaries planted tree sampling in our college campus. In this campaign around 1080 sampling were planted by NSS volunteers in different parts of our campus. The students and faculty selected the empty places and the roadsides to plant saplings in a well-organised way. Participants were highly enthusiastic to make it a big success. The students also planted saplings, fenced them and watered the plants.

Empowering Differently Abled

Differently Abled Children’s programme was conducted by KCG College of Technology, Chennai along with NSS Cell on 6th September 2019. The students came from Muscular Dystrophy School Thousand Lights, Chennai and reached our campus at 10.00am. We first had the introduction of each special kid. Nearly 13 Differently Abled students ,15 Parents and one Teacher had visited our college. The programme was inaugurated by Dr.G.Prabhakaran, Principal, Dr Sarukesi, Dean Academic, Dr.P. Deiva Sundari, Associate Dean – Industry Partnership & Corporate Affairs, HoDs, Staff and Students.

The Differently Abled students visited various labs like Aero Hanger, SAE car, Automobile Lab and Fashion Technology lab and attended presentations in our college campus. The students showed so much enthusiasm and the happiness on their faces clearly showed they enjoyed a lot. Later Fashion Technology Department distributed handkerchiefs and Mechanical Department distributed lunch bags, stainless steel water bottle and lunch boxes for each child during the campaign. As the day was coming to end we realized the importance of everything we have and how we forget to appreciate the small things we complain about. At last, we all had to leave with a heavy heart.

Empowering Differently Abled for Children’s Day Program

We went to Muscular Dystrophy School Thousand Lights, Chennai, a school to differently-abled students on 14th November 2019 (Children’s Day Program). We first met with the Teacher and the Parents. We reached there by 10 am and the special children welcomed us with warm wishes and hugged us. After takings introductions of each special kid we played fun games, sang songs, danced and these games evoked the enthusiasm and happiness in the kids and they enjoyed a lot.

Later we distributed the book, stationeries, chocolates, to the children during the campaign we collected from our school children. They were so overjoyed while receiving books. As the day was coming to an end we realized the importance of everything we have and how we forget to appreciate the small things.
