Workshop on Elegant Graces: Navigating Dresses and Dining Etiquettes
On August 12, 2023, a workshop titled “Elegant Graces: Navigating Dresses and Dining Etiquettes” was held, led by Ms. Bela Susan Thomas, Product Marketer at Zoho Corporation. The session aimed to enhance the social and professional confidence of future leaders by providing insights into elegant dressing and dining manners. Following this, a workshop on “Graceful Graces: The Art of Manners” focused on presenting oneself elegantly in interviews. Dr. R. Amrutha, Professor in the Department of Science & Humanities at KCG College of Technology, was the resource person.
Fashion Show
On August 19, 2023, the fashion show “Regal Runway: Leading in Style” highlighted ethnic elegance, professional poise, and creative expression. The jury assessed participants on poise, confidence, and dress code adherence. Jennifer, Adeline, and Harish Aravind were recognized as the top three winners, showcasing the event’s success in promoting professional presentation among CTL members.
Workshop on ‘Healthy Boundaries’
A workshop titled “Lakshman Rekha – Healthy Boundaries” was organized by the KCG Women Empowerment and Prevention of Sexual Harassment Cell on December 2, 2023, at KMC Auditorium. Led by Ms. Revathy Dhushyanthan, Student Counsellor, the session aimed to equip first-year KCG girl students with the knowledge to establish and maintain healthy boundaries. The workshop focused on emotional health, self-respect, and clear expectations in relationships, promoting overall well-being. An interactive Q&A clarified doubts and ensured understanding of acceptable behavior and personal limits.

On November 18, 2023, a workshop on Leadership Skills was organized for first-year CTL members. Mr. Sengu Paal, Director of Ezone Learning and a renowned leadership coach, was the chief guest. He highlighted the difference between chance and choice, showing how CTL helps refine leadership skills. An interactive activity demonstrated the distinction between reacting and responding, emphasizing thoughtful problem-solving. The students left inspired and impressed by the speaker’s valuable insights.

On December 2, 2023, a Fireside Chat featured Mr. Mathisharma G, CTO of Vayuratha Private Limited and Aeronautical Engineering alumnus (Batch 2021). He shared insights into Vayuratha’s journey, including key learnings and successes. The session also allowed students to engage actively and address their startup-related questions.
Seminar on Student’s Design Thinking Journey: From Ideas to Impact
On February 24, 2024, a seminar titled “Student’s Design Thinking Journey: From Ideas to Impact” was held. Ms. Vakkalagadda Drishti Rao, a 3rd-year CSE student and CTL Secretary, shared her insights with 2nd-year CTL members. She offered practical advice on the design thinking process, including methodology, problem statement framing, brainstorming, ideation, prototyping, and presentation skills. The interactive session featured real-world problems for students to practice on and included a feedback session for open discussion. The seminar was well-received, with students finding it valuable for their participation in the 2024 Design Thinking Challenge.

The workshop explored design thinking principles for fostering innovation, focusing on the Four C’s: Coordination, Communication, Critical Thinking, and Creativity. Activities included composing a team song to boost collaboration and building towers with spaghetti to demonstrate practical design thinking. The session highlighted the importance of design thinking’s human-centered approach to problem-solving and innovation.

Ms. Devi highlighted the importance of precise vocabulary and led exercises like creating mind maps and drafting self-critiqued sentences. Students also explored the functions of the right and left brain in emotional maturity. The workshop aimed to enhance communication skills related to emotions and thoughts, concluding with reflections on key takeaways.

India is a country of more than a billion people and yet only 3 medals won at 2008 Olympics. There after sea of well intended changes has been initiated by Government, private and NGO sectors to increase the medal tally. Eight year later at Rio Olympics our medal tally degraded to one less than what we achieved at 2008. In Obsession with getting more gold, we missed the focus on building a sporty nation.

On November 18, 2023, a workshop on Leadership Skills was organized for first-year CTL members. Mr. Sengu Paal, Director of Ezone Learning and a renowned leadership coach, was the chief guest. He highlighted the difference between chance and choice, showing how CTL helps refine leadership skills. An interactive activity demonstrated the distinction between reacting and responding, emphasizing thoughtful problem-solving. The students left inspired and impressed by the speaker’s valuable insights.
Fireside Chat – A Journey of Vayuratha
On December 2, 2023, a Fireside Chat featured Mr. Mathisharma G, CTO of Vayuratha Private Limited and Aeronautical Engineering alumnus (Batch 2021). He shared insights into Vayuratha’s journey, including key learnings and successes. The session also allowed students to engage actively and address their startup-related questions.
Seminar on Student’s Design Thinking Journey: From Ideas to Impact
On February 24, 2024, a seminar titled “Student’s Design Thinking Journey: From Ideas to Impact” was held. Ms. Vakkalagadda Drishti Rao, a 3rd-year CSE student and CTL Secretary, shared her insights with 2nd-year CTL members. She offered practical advice on the design thinking process, including methodology, problem statement framing, brainstorming, ideation, prototyping, and presentation skills. The interactive session featured real-world problems for students to practice on and included a feedback session for open discussion. The seminar was well-received, with students finding it valuable for their participation in the 2024 Design Thinking Challenge.

On March 9, 2024, a workshop on “Building an Innovative Culture with Design Thinking” was led by Mr. George Koshi, Director of Learning & Development at Sify Technologies Ltd. The workshop explored design thinking principles for fostering innovation, focusing on the Four C’s: Coordination, Communication, Critical Thinking, and Creativity. Activities included composing a team song to boost collaboration and building towers with spaghetti to demonstrate practical design thinking. The session highlighted the importance of design thinking’s human-centered approach to problem-solving and innovation.

On March 22, 2024, the Centre for Transformational Leadership, in association with the Office of Alumni Affairs, organized a workshop on “Essentials of Communication in Leadership” led by KCG alumna Ms. Renugha Devi R for first-year CTL members. The session included group activities where students rated their state of mind and energy on an XY plane, emphasizing emotional awareness. Ms. Devi highlighted the importance of precise vocabulary and led exercises like creating mind maps and drafting self-critiqued sentences. Students also explored the functions of the right and left brain in emotional maturity. The workshop aimed to enhance communication skills related to emotions and thoughts, concluding with reflections on key takeaways.

On August 12, 2023, a workshop titled “Elegant Graces: Navigating Dresses and Dining Etiquettes” was held, led by Ms. Bela Susan Thomas, Product Marketer at Zoho Corporation. The session aimed to enhance the social and professional confidence of future leaders by providing insights into elegant dressing and dining manners. Following this, a workshop on “Graceful Graces: The Art of Manners” focused on presenting oneself elegantly in interviews. Dr. R. Amrutha, Professor in the Department of Science & Humanities at KCG College of Technology, was the resource person.
Fashion Show
On August 19, 2023, the fashion show “Regal Runway: Leading in Style” highlighted ethnic elegance, professional poise, and creative expression. The jury assessed participants on poise, confidence, and dress code adherence. Jennifer, Adeline, and Harish Aravind were recognized as the top three winners, showcasing the event’s success in promoting professional presentation among CTL members.

A workshop titled “Lakshman Rekha – Healthy Boundaries” was organized by the KCG Women Empowerment and Prevention of Sexual Harassment Cell on December 2, 2023, at KMC Auditorium. Led by Ms. Revathy Dhushyanthan, Student Counsellor, the session aimed to equip first-year KCG girl students with the knowledge to establish and maintain healthy boundaries. The workshop focused on emotional health, self-respect, and clear expectations in relationships, promoting overall well-being. KCG Y’S MEN YOUTH CLUB

Ys Youth Club of KCG College was inaugurated on 9th October 2020 at KCG College of Technology campus and the program was broadcast online. Eminent and Enthusiastic Ys Leaders and Ys Men participated in the event online. The club is sponsored by YSC of Chennai Karapakkam. Ysp Dr.Annie Jacob, Ys Mennette Leader, India Area, will be the advisor of the club.
