KCG College of Technology has launched the EFY–KCG Tech Center in collaboration with Electronics For You, a popular magazine for electronics enthusiasts. The center offers hands-on training in Arduino, Raspberry Pi, embedded systems, PIC microcontrollers, VLSI design, and basic electronics. Upon successful completion of the course, trainees receive the EFY Certificate, recognized by the industry across India.
The KCG-CDCE-MSME Centre of Excellence was inaugurated on February 7, 2017, by Mr. S. Arunachalam, Plant Head of IFB Automotives Pvt Ltd, Chennai. The center aims to provide budding engineers with industrial exposure, offering them a practical perspective and the skills to achieve their goals. We offer hands-on training from professionals in industrial automation and robotics. The KCG-CDCE product profile includes manufacturing special purpose machines, test rigs, assembly stations, conveyor systems, workstations, electrical panels, automation panels, LT panels, PLC panels, robotics, and jigs and fixtures. The Centre of Excellence also undertakes consultancy projects for the automobile, food, ETP, STP, engineering, and chemical industries

The Substation Automation and Smart Grid Centre of Excellence (CoE) provides engineering graduates, postgraduates, research scholars, industry professionals, and technicians with knowledge in the latest protection engineering, substation operation, and control. Substation automation enhances plant productivity through advanced protection schemes and condition monitoring for generators, power transformers, bus bars, and more. Numeric relays and Intelligent Electronic Devices are key components of the system.
The CoE has established a state-of-the-art Power System Protection Lab in collaboration with GE, featuring Numerical Relays such as Distance Protection Relay, Transformer Protection Relay, Busbar Protection Relay, Generator Protection Relay, and Motor Protection Relay.

The Autodesk Centre of Excellence in the Department of Civil Engineering aims to equip graduates with skills in Autodesk software, preparing them for the engineering design industry. KCG College of Technology and Virtusa Corporation launched a Centre of Excellence in Java and New-Age Technologies on December 4, 2018. This partnership offers students and faculty industry-oriented training and exposure to in-demand technologies.
Virtusa, a global leader in digital strategy, engineering, and IT outsourcing, will provide hands-on training in emerging IT technologies, ensuring students are industry-ready. Additionally, Virtusa will train faculty in microservices, big data, machine learning, blockchain, cloud computing, and artificial intelligence, enabling the CoE to prepare students with current, Java-based skills and create a talent pool with industry-ready capabilities.

The KCG–Oracle Academy is an educational initiative that promotes global advancements in computer science by driving knowledge, innovation, skills development, and diversity in technology. The program offers free resources such as technology, curriculum, courseware, student workshops, educator training, and Oracle industry certification. As an academic partner with Oracle, KCG offers Java fundamentals certification courses to CSE and IT students, having issued certificates to over 200 students. Additionally, KCG and Oracle Academy organize various programs, including Student Day, where students showcase digital advancements and IT themes. The Center of Excellence for Drones aims to integrate UAV technology into the UAV, Avionics, and Design and Control courses in the Department of Aeronautical and Aerospace Engineering, providing students with experience in realistic Guidance Navigation and Control (GNC) systems. The Remote Pilot Aircraft Systems Laboratory develops technology for unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs), allowing students to work closely with industry partners. These projects explore the future of UAV technology as drone operations increase globally. Research includes applying advanced avionics, sensors, and other payloads to off-the-shelf fixed-wing and multi-rotor UAVs, as well as custom platforms.
This Centre will provide education and conduct cutting-edge research in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD), utilizing CFD-based simulation tools to develop efficient and innovative products and processes. Multiphysics simulation enables students to explore and predict product performance in real-world scenarios, allowing engineers to innovate like never before. By combining modeling, physics, mathematics, and computer science, simulation allows engineers to evaluate design behavior in countless real-world scenarios, potentially reducing or eliminating the need for costly physical testing.
MATHWORKS ACADEMY has signed an agreement with our institute for a Campus-Wide License, granting all faculty and students access to MATLAB, Simulink, and various toolboxes for research, coursework, and projects. The institute permits installation of MATLAB on personally-owned computers, enabling anywhere access. This multidisciplinary tool is available to all faculty, students, and research scholars via a centralized license, aligning users with industry standards. The institute is thus equipped to address industry-related problems, fostering industry associations and producing industry-ready graduates. The agreement, signed in June 2020, facilitates real-time learning and quality research.
