About the
Department

The Department of Aerospace Engineering offers one of the best courses in the domain, in Chennai. It is permanently affiliated with Anna University and accredited by the All-India Council for Technical Education (AICTE). The department has also been accredited by the National Board of Accreditation (NBA) under revised standards since June 2022.

The Department is committed to advancing innovation and excellence in aerospace. Our curriculum imparts a solid foundation in aeronautics and aerospace engineering and develops the skills and creativity needed to design the next generation of flying machines. With the support of highly qualified faculty and modern laboratory facilities, our students are encouraged to push boundaries and excel in this dynamic field.

Beyond the academic curriculum, the department regularly organizes national and international conferences, workshops, seminars, guest lectures, symposiums, and industrial visits, under the aegis of Dr. Anand Jacob Verghese, Chairman of the Hindustan Group of Institutions and Vice President of the Aeronautical Society of India.

PEO 1:

Apply knowledge in emerging and varied areas of Aeronautical Engineering for higher studies, research, employment and product development

PO 1:

Apply the knowledge of mathematics, science, engineering fundamentals, and an engineering specialization to the solution of complex engineering problems.

PO 2:

Identify, formulate, research literature, and analyze complex engineering problems reaching substantiated conclusions using first principles of mathematics, natural sciences, and engineering sciences.

PO 3:

Design solutions for complex engineering problems and design system components or processes that meet the specified needs with appropriate consideration for the public health and safety, and the cultural, societal, and environmental considerations.

PO 4:

Use research based knowledge and methods including design of experiments, analysis and interpretation of data, and synthesis of the information to provide valid conclusions.

PO 5:

Create, select, and apply appropriate techniques, resources, and modern engineering and IT tools including prediction and modelling to complex engineering activities with an understanding of the limitations.

PO 6:

Apply reasoning informed by the contextual knowledge to assess societal, health, safety, legal and cultural issues and the consequent responsibilities relevant to the professional engineering practice.

PO 7:

Understand the impact of the professional engineering solutions in societal and environmental contexts, and demonstrate the knowledge of, and need for sustainable development.

PO 8:

Apply ethical principles and commit to professional ethics and responsibilities and norms of the engineering practice.

PO 9:

Function effectively as an individual, and as a member or leader in diverse teams, and in multidisciplinary settings.
