About the
Department

Established in 1998, the Department of Computer Science and Engineering has been a cornerstone of the institution since its inception. The department offers undergraduate programs in Computer Science and Engineering with an intake of 180 students, as well as specialized programs in Cyber Security with an intake of 60 students. Additionally, it provides a postgraduate program in Computer Science and Engineering with an intake of 12 students.

Accredited by the NBA under the revised norms since June 2017, the department holds permanent affiliation with Anna University and is recognized as a research center by the university. It has received funding for projects from the Department of Science and Technology (DST) and the Tamil Nadu State Council for Science and Technology (TNSCST). The department has been honored with the AICTE-CII Award for Best Industry Linked Computer Science/IT & Allied Engineering and is ranked among the top 21 institutes by AICTE-CII, receiving recognition in the PLATINUM CATEGORY.

Over the past four years, the department has produced 36 university rank holders and boasts an impressive average campus placement rate of around 90%. Students have excelled in global competitions, securing first prize twice in the world’s largest Hackathon organized by MHRD & AICTE and winning the Smart City Challenge for consecutive years. The department is also home to Centers of Excellence in collaboration with Intel, AWS Academy, Virtusa, and CISCO Local Academy, offering certifications in CCNA and Cyber Security.
