Apr 1 @ 9:30 am – Apr 2 @ 3:15 pm

Smart India Hackathon’17 – ‘be a part of India’s Digital Evolution’, Grand Finale was conducted on April 1st and 2nd 2017. Our team called D’arc participated in this Grand Finale under the Ministry of Environment, Forests & Climate Change. The venue was in Sri Krishna College of Engineering and Technology, Coimbatore. Our college team emerged as the winner in the two-day “Smart India Hackathon”. The team got a cash prize of Rs.1 lakh for their project titled “Water Surveillance System”. Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed and interacted with aspiring innovators in Smart India Hackathon 2017 on Saturday. The team details are as follows: Team Members are Prasad K Jose, Prathik Bhosle, Prasanth Kumar, Siddarth Sharma, Saicharan, Radheyan and Mentors are Dr.C.Emilin Shyni, CSE and Mr.Elanthamizhan, Project associate. The brief explanation about the project is as follows: IOT Based Water Surveillance System offers a viable solution that provides automated supervision over the content of the chemicals in the water. It calculates the chemical content of the water inlets and will allow the water to add to the water bodies. The device works on the solar energy for power source. Device will be operated by the concerned authority using application (Mobile or Web Page) which is networked to the Cloud Server. The detailed data about the chemical contents present in the water bodies or the wetlands will be gathered with the use of different kinds of sensors installed in the water bodies or wetlands and will be sent to the cloud server. The water bodies will be divided into different regions for better surveillance system. The system will also provide suggestion on how to reduce the water pollution. Fresh data will be uploaded to the server daily and the user will be able to see the data in his UI (mobile or website) by selecting the region of which he wants to see the data.
