KCG Women’s Coding Club has organized a Hackathon- Women Codeathon 6.O for girl students on 9.3.24 (Saturday). The event started with a formal inauguration by Ms Anju.A, KCG Women’s Club Coordinator. The contest started at 9.00 am, the girl students from various departments had registered and participated in the event. Around 60 students had registered and 17 teams (45 students) had participated for the Hackathon.
Information Technology , Organizes a seminar on “Cyber Security Essentials for students: Explore, Learn and build your future”, The Seminar held on 19 rd March , 2024 in S13, Seminar Hall.Mr.Palanivel Manoharan , an eminent figure in the field of cyber security, graced the occasion as the main speaker. As the Head of Partnerships and alliances – Humana Inc. USA, his expertise added significant value to the discourse on safeguarding digital landscapes. The lecture shed light on the global awareness surrounding cyber security.
The Department of Information Technology organized A Seminar on “UI / UX Design” on 21.03.2024
Resource person : Ms.Sandhiya, Technical Head and Founder, Busy Brain Academy, Chennai. She shared valuable knowledge about UI / UX tools and also explained more with application design .
The Essentials of Communication in Leadership workshop, organized jointly by the Centre of Transformational Leadership and the Office of Alumni Affairs on March 22, 2024, was a significant event aimed at enhancing students’ communication skills and emotional intelligence. Led by KCG alumna Ms. Renugha Devi R, the workshop engaged first-year members of CTL in a series of interactive activities designed to promote effective expression and emotional acknowledgment. Participants were grouped into circles to plot their current state of mind and energy, followed by discussions on using precise vocabulary for articulating thoughts and emotions. Ms. Renugha Devi R’s insights into the functions of the right and left brain added depth to the session, highlighting the importance of balanced communication.
The workshop’s success was evident in the participants’ reflections, where they expressed gratitude for the practical knowledge gained and emphasized the relevance of clear communication in leadership roles. Moving forward, it is recommended to host similar workshops periodically to continue nurturing students’ communication capabilities and fostering a deeper understanding of emotional intelligence within the leadership context.
The seminar on “Cyber Security as a career opportunity” organised by IT Department on 26.03.2024. The resource person Dr.Arunkumar, Senior Lecturer, Digital Forensics & Cyber Security, University of South Wales, Treforest, UK, shared the importance of cybersecurity and what are the opening and job opportunities in the field of cybersecurity. He discusses the opportunities for Cyber advancement. He gave more inputs on the proliferation of cyber threats, including data breaches, ransomware attacks, and identity theft, organizations across various industries are actively seeking experts to safeguard their digital assets. This Seminar focuses on SDG 9, aims to build resilient infrastructure, promote inclusive and sustainable industrialization, and foster innovation, crucial for fostering economic growth, creating jobs, and ensuring sustainable development.
Objectives: The purpose of conducting this CSI Sponsored Code Relay 2.0on Problem Solving Using Data Structures to the students is to bring awareness about the use of data structures in problem solving.

About 15 teams of 65 participants registered for the event. Mr. Kevin, Associate Engineer Technology, GAVS Technologies Chennai , invited as jury for the event and was coordinated by Ms.Adline Freeda R, Asst. Professor-IT and Ms.Krithikaa Venket, Asst.Professor-IT.

Conclusion
