The World Mental Health Day is observed on 10th October. The overall objective of World Mental Health Day is to raise an awareness of mental health issues around the world and to mobilize efforts in support of mental health.
The WFMH President Dr Ingrid Daniels has announced the theme for World Mental Health Day 2021 as ‘Mental Health in an Unequal World’. Inequalities due to race and ethnicity, sexual orientation and gender identity, and the lack of respect for human rights, including for people living with mental health conditions. Such inequalities have an impact on people’s mental health.
The COVID 19 pandemic has affected the physical and mental health of many people all over the world. It has further highlighted the effects of inequality on health. The pandemic has and will continue to affect people in many ways through infection and illness, sometimes death bringing bereavement to surviving family members; through the economic impact, with job losses and continued job insecurity; and with the physical distancing that can lead to social isolation.

Menstruation is a normal biological process which happens in adolescent girls and women. But it is still a TABOO to speak about it in the society and even amongst the family members. Mostly the adolescent girls are not educated on this topic. It is necessary to educate the adolescent girls to have more knowledge and information to understand menstruation, so that it is managed safely with dignity.
To educate our girl students on the topic we had Ms Roshnee Bhowmick, CSR Executive, Unicharm India on 11th December, 2021 at 1.45 pm. The session educated our students about the biological process of menstruation and how to manage it in a more hygienic way. She gave information on the food to eat to maintain good health and yogasanas to manage the menstrual pain. The session was more educative and quite interactive. Our students had a good take away.
