Sales force ADX-201 Administrator Workshop- 2019
On September 24th 2019, a 5 Day workshop on Administrative Essentials for New Admins in Lightning Experience (ADX201) in association with ICT Academy, was inaugurated at KCG College of Technology by Head of the Computer Science and Engineering Department – Dr. M. Krishnamurthy, Head of the Information Technology Department Dr J. Frank Vijay along with ICT academy Relationship Manager Mr Dinesh & Resource Person for the 5 day workshop Mr Ravichandran along with others Trainers Graced the occasion.
Dr M. Krishnamurthy Head – CSE, Enlightened students the Purpose of this workshop being conducted for Final Years and the Objectives of this workshop was cited by him. He also emphasised students to learn the cloud technology skills to make them on par with industry standards. Last but Not Least Dr J. Frank Vijay concluded the inaugural of the event with vote of thanks and also shared his bright ideas on cloud technology and the importance of it with respect to industry Revolution 4.0

The Institutions Innovation cell (IIC) is organizing an ideation workshop on “Where do ideas come from?” on 26th september 2019 for first year students to inculcate the spirit of innovation and creativity. Mr.Dorai Thodla, Technopreneur will chair the workshop. Interested first year students can register their names with Dr.R. Lakshmipathy, IEDC Coordinator on or before 25.092019 12.00 noon and seats are limited to 60 only.
Institution’s Innovation Cell (IIC) is organizing an Entrepreneurship motivational talk for students on 28th September 2019 at 10.30 am in the S13 Seminar hall. The talk is planned to motivate the students to pursue entrepreneurship as a career. Ms. Suryasree, Entrepreneur and our Alumna will deliver the motivational talk for the students.
Student Solar Ambassador Workshop-2019
The Department of Electrical and Electronics Engineering of KCG College of Technology in association with IIT Bombay and Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) has organized one day hands on Training on “Student Solar Ambassador Workshop-2019” under the scheme Gandhi Global Solar Yatra on 02.10.2019. It is a global event and students from more than 180 countries are participating in this “One day Hands on Training to assemble Solar Study Lamp” in their respective premises. In our college, 100 students from the departments of EEE, EIE and ECE are participating in this workshop. The workshop is aimed to celebrate the Gandhian principles of self-sufficiency and as the International Day of Non-Violence towards Environment. The Solar PV Technology is one of the fast growing renewable energy which does not harm the environment. As a green campus, KCG College of Technology continuously providing its support for nation to create awareness among the youngsters and guiding them to utilize the renewable energy sources.
Dr.P. Deivasundari, Associate dean-Industry Partnership& Corporate Affairs welcomed and inaugurated the workshop at 9.30am. She also highlighted the importance of renewable energy and effect of climate change.
Dr. Anuradha, HOD/EEE in the first session (10.00am to 11.00am) after stating the objectives and significance of the programme discussed the following topics:
- Sensitization towards current climate scenario and climate change
- Introduction to Energy and Electricity
- Why solar energy is better than conventional source of energy?
- Benefits and usage of Solar Energy After post lunch
After small Tea break, in session 2 (11.00am to 1.00 pm) Mr.K. Karthikeyan, HOD/EIE gave an outline about,
- Introduction to toolkit components
- Familiarization of components and physical testing
- Technical testing of the technical components
After the post lunch, session 3 started (2.00am to 4.30pm) during which step by step assembly of solar lamp was done by the students. The trainers Mr.S.Balaji, Ms.M. Ramya, Mr.V. Subramaniyan, Dr.S.Prabhuraj, Ms. R. Gayatri, Ms.M. Shanmugapriya and Ms.S. Manisha from department of EEE guided the students for assembling their study lamp.
After the assembly of solar lamp, students were moved from class room to open ground where the future prospects of solar energy which the college will adopt in future were announced.
After the video and photo session, students gave their positive feedback on this workshop. At the end of event, students and trainers were taken pledge on Non-Violence towards Environment.

World Mental Health Day is observed on 10 October every year, with the objective of raising awareness of mental health issues, to seek help and support for the people worldwide.
Every year WHO provides with a theme to work on and this year it is “Suicide Prevention”.Every 40 seconds, someone loses their life to suicide. It is our role and responsibility to help someone in this world to come out of the suicidal thoughts and to seek help.
Based on the theme “Suicide Prevention” the World Mental Health Day was observed on our campus on 17th October, 2019 between 1.45 pm – 4.15 pm at KMC Auditorium.
Off-stage events Poster-making, Face-Painting, and On-stage events Talk Show and Short Film were conducted on the topic “Suicide Prevention” forI year students. The students took part in the events enthusiastically and show cased their talents and presented their views. Cash Prizes and certificates were distributed to the Prize Winners of the first 3 places.
Mr Ilango, a volunteer from SNEHA Suicide Prevention Centre was the Resource Person for the day. He educated our staff and students on the topic. The session concentrated on signs, symptoms and identification of stress and depression, when and from whom to seek help when a person is depressed andhas suicidal thoughts or attempted suicide, myths and facts about suicide, how to support a person who attempted suicide were highlighted in the session.
The program created an awareness amongst the staff and students on Mental Health and Suicide Prevention.
An estimate of 2/3 of all cancers are preventable says a research. Every year lakhs of Indians are devastated by the news of cancer and on an average more than 1,300 Indians succumb to the dreadful disease every year.
Breast cancer is the most common type of cancer in women across the world. In India too Breast Cancer is the leading cancer type in women, while cervical cancer is the second most common.
Since we have more than 50% of the women staff in our college, our management felt the need to have a Breast Cancer Awareness Program for the women staff. The Staff Wellness Program was held on 29th October, 2019 at S13 between 2.00 – 3.00 pm.
The Resource Person for the program was Dr Jegan, Medical Oncologist, CANCARE Foundation, Apollo Hospital and Kumaran Hospital. He created an awareness about cancer amongst the audience. He spoke about the causes, signs and symptoms of breast cancer and the treatment. He also spoke about the breast self-examination to find the abnormalities, lumps and nodes and approach the doctor for early detection and cure. He also said that cancer is treatable and curable at the early stage and the necessity of ongoing treatment and follow-up.
He mentioned about the Cervical Cancer Vaccines, Cervarix and Gardasil for ages 9 – 26. He spoke about healthy diet to be followed.
Queries were answered, clarified and the program created an awareness amongst the staff members.
