There is a rapid widespread of COVID 19 currently in India. Many people are getting affected by COVID virus and some are fatal. The entire world is struggling to prevent, handle and overcome the effects of COVID. The doctors recommend Yoga, Pranayama and Meditation to improve on the immunity power and lungs capacity to face COVID effects and to safeguard ourselves from COVID.
To improve the Wellness of our staff and students a program “Our Health in Our Hands” was conducted through Zoom on 21st May, 2021 between 4.00 pm – 5.00 pm by the Resource Person Thiru P. Krishnan Balaji, M. A. (Yoga). He taught Yoga mudras, Pranayama and Chakra Meditation to build immunity power and improve the lungs capacity.
Staff and students attended the program and got benefitted.
“PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN CURE”
Yoga originated many many years ago in India and now it is celebrated World-wide as International Yoga Day on 21st June every year. It was proposed by our Honourable Prime Minister Thiru Narendra Modi at the United Nations General Assembly on 27th September, 2014 and first International Yoga Day was observed on 21st June, 2015. The response received was massive and since then every year 21st June is observed as International Yoga Day.
During this pandemic all our physical and mental well-being are affected. So to boost the physical and mental immunity, the International Yoga day was observed on 19th June, 2021 between 8.00 am – 9.00 am on the proposed topic “Yoga at Home and Yoga with Family” by the Resource Person – Yoga Therapist Dr Kalaichelvi, M.A., BLIS., M.ED., M.PHIL., M.SC Varma., M.A.Yoga. She explained about the Yoga Asanas, Pranayama and its benefits and demonstrated the same along with her team members.
Around 200 staff and the students participated and benefitted out of the Program.
