The Department of Information Technology, KCG College of Technology, organized an enlightening seminar on “Introduction to Immersive Technologies (AR/VR)” on17th September 2025 at the Seminar Hall (S13). The event was conducted from 9:30 am to 11:30 am and was graced by the presence of students, faculty members, and distinguished guests.The seminar began with a warm welcome address delivered by the seminar coordinator, Dr. R. Adline Freeda, who highlighted the growing importance of immersive technologies such as Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR) in shaping future innovations. She emphasized the role of these technologies in various domains including education, healthcare, design, and entertainment.Following this, Dr. Adline Freeda introduced the Resource Person, Mr. Ranjeet Kumar D, Senior AVGC Faculty from Monolith Research & Training Labs. She briefly outlined his academic qualifications and professional contributions as a trainer and developer in AR/VR and game development. She also mentioned his role as an Unreal Authorized Instructor and his expertise in guiding students and professionals in cutting-edge immersive technologies.

The Head of the Department of IT,Dr.S.Muthuslevanexpressed gratitude to the speaker for his informative and inspiring session. As a token of appreciation, the HoD presented a memento to the resource person. This gesture symbolized the department’s recognition of his valuable contribution to the seminar and his efforts in enlightening the students.

Mr. Ranjeet Kumar D delivered a comprehensive session on “Introduction to Immersive Technologies (AR/VR)”. He began by explaining the fundamental concepts of Augmented Reality (AR) and Virtual Reality (VR), followed by their differences, applications, and potential impact on industries.

He presented various real-world use cases where AR/VR is transforming experiences — such as simulation training, industrial applications, education, architecture, and interactive gaming. The session also included a discussion on the latest advancements in AR/VR tools, hardware, and development platforms.

To engage the audience, Mr. Ranjeet Kumar shared live demonstrations and case studies, which helped students visualize the applications of immersive technologies.
